Description
5-Amino-1MQ is a synthetic small-molecule research compound, not a peptide. It is commonly described as a selective nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT) inhibitor and is used in laboratory settings to study cellular metabolism, lipogenesis, and NAD+-related pathway biology.
In preclinical research, 5-Amino-1MQ has been reported to reduce lipogenesis in 3T3-L1 cells, lower 1-methylnicotinamide levels in adipocytes, and show in vivo activity in murine obesity and muscle-regeneration models. These findings are research-model observations, not established human-use claims.
